Tsuburaya Making Giant Monster Halloween Costumes!?

Okay.....this may be the coolest f**king thing I've ever seen in my life!

The Japanese are eons ahead of us westerners, let's just face it. They have human looking robots that can move around and talk, and now they have animatronic giant monster Halloween costumes that have flashing eyes, breathes smoke, and can even roar.

How can we compete with that?

No, the costume featured in the video above isn't for an upcoming movie, though the monster featured, Gomora, is in the upcoming film, "Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend", it's being made for everyday schmucks like you and me.

That's right, you will soon be able to buy one of these babies.

This Gomora costume is part of a brand-new line of animatronic monster suites, called “Dekaiju”, being produced by Tsuburaya Productions for sale to the general public.

The Gomora costume stands in at over ten feet tall, and twenty feet long, and is controlled solely by the wearer. It comes equipped with flashing eyes, shoots smoke out of it's mouth and comes with it's own unique roar.

It is unknown at this time how many of these gigantic costumes will be made or what other monsters will be featured in the "Dekaiju" line.

Though the costume is friggin awesome, I can see many drawbacks to it. One, you know that they will only be for sale in Japan, so having it imported would add even more to what is certain to be an already hefty price tag for one of these. Two, you can't wear it inside, its twenty feet long. Can you imagine trying to squeeze into your buddies apartment for a Halloween party wearing one. You would make enemies fast, break everything in site and probably get guacamole all over it. That wouldn't do at all.

On the upside, you could set up a miniature city in your driveway and act out all those monster fantasies we all have......yes....all of us. You could also scare the living crap out of your neighbors dog with it. Bark at two in the morning again....I dare you. You know Gomora is coming for ya mutt!

Oh, geeze I just kinda went nuts there......sorry.

Okay, for anyone who doesn't know what to get me for Christmas......well.......well?

  1. Neat, but I have read about the downside of the costume.

I'd rather make my own thank you.

  2. Oh my flipping lord. Absolutely amazing. I can't even imagine how much that must cost to buy. Is there really a viable market big enough for them to justify selling something like that for what must be thousands of dollars? Don't get me wrong I would buy each and every one of them if I could afford it, but I can't even afford one. Maybe the Japanese are just more well off then we are.
