According to Variety, Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad," "Total Recall") and Elizabeth Olsen ("Silent House") are in negotiations to join Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Kick-Ass") in the movie, which is tentatively scheduled to begin production next month.
British director Gareth Edwards, whose low-budget 2010 film "Monsters" earned him fan and critical acclaim, is behind the camera for this project, which has just had its script tweaked by former "Walking Dead" executive producer Frank Darabont.
Nothing about the plot or characters has been revealed, although rumors have been circulating that Godzilla will be joined by two other monsters in the film.
Taylor-Johnson, who will be seen later this summer in "Kick-Ass 2" as the would-be title superhero, will reportedly play a soldier who gets caught up in Godzilla's wake of destruction. Cranston would supposedly play his stepfather, while Olsen would appear as Taylor-Johnson's girlfriend.
