Billie Piper Still Undecided About Return To Doctor Who

Rumors have been swirling since the fourth season finale of "Doctor Who" that actress Billie Piper may be reprising her role as, Rose Tyler, on a full-time basis when the hit sci fi series returns for its fifth season in 2010. As of yet these rumors are just that, rumors. Apparently Piper isn't 100% sold on the idea of returning as the Doctors companion just yet.

Piper has just signed on for a second season of the sexy BBC series, "Diary of a Call Girl", and is presently expecting her first child with husband Laurence Fox. Motherhood has given the former pop-star turned actress an opportunity to, "rethink the rest of my career" according to a recent Radio Times interview.

Piper was reportedly very nervous during filming last year, when she reprised the role of, "Rose" for series finale of "Doctor Who," causing the young actress to have trouble delivering her lines.

"It seemed fine when I heard it. When I went to work the next morning the make-up guy said, 'Your speech sounded really funny.' I wonder whether it was something in the final mix. Strange," said Piper.

Piper also admits that dealing with the popularity of "Doctor Who" can be a little frightening, especially when she gets mobbed by groups of young fans.

"Sweet as they are, kids en masse are kind of frightening. Every child just thinks you're Rose and you don't want to spoil the illusion," she said.

Since both "Who" and "Call Girl" have become hits in America, there have also been rumors that Hollywood may soon come calling. Something that the soon to be mom is downplaying.

"I don't get too carried away. I've had calls from agents, but you still have to go and audition - they don't just happen," she said.

Regardless of the outcome of her decision, Piper will always hold a spot in the hearts of "Doctor Who" fans who have voted "Rose Tyler" the best of the "Time-Lords" companions over-and-over again.
