Luke Evans To Lead Universal's Origin Story Dracula

Having just watched Luke Evans as a charismatic psycho killer in the trashy gorefest No One Lives, news of his recent casting is most welcome.

The Hollywood Reporter reveal the Welsh actor will headline Universal's Dracula, the vampire origin story originally titled Dracula Year Zero.

Irish commercials director Gary Shore is set to make his feature debut on the project, which had Alex Proyas attached as helmer for years. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the script for the historical piece, following a young prince whose wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, and risking his soul to save them, becomes the first vampire.
